Cortez Aviation Pioneers: Polly and Rollin Usher

Polly and Rollin Usher, were truly Aviation Pioneers … they started it all in Cortez, first learning to fly in 1937, when the “landing strip” was on the East side of town. Polly’s autobiography “Flying Joyfully” is a delightful presentation of aviation’s beginnings in Cortez … which also provides important insights into the accomplishments of these important Aviation Pioneers. Polly’s name can be found on the National Air and Space Society Wall of Honor, at the National Air and Space Museum, Washington, D.C.
