Experience the

Thrill of Flight!

Hey Parents,

Give Your Kids an ‘Altitude’ Adjustment!

The EAA Young Eagles program has provided more than 1.3 million young people between the ages of 8 and 17 the experience of flight. We think your child is an ideal candidate. The flight is free, safe and flown by a licensed and experienced volunteer pilot whose life has been enhanced by aviation.

While not everyone who participates in the Young Eagles program becomes a pilot, the experience of flight is guaranteed to give each participant a new perspective on their world. It may even inspire your child to realize that when it comes to human potential, there are no limits.

A member of EAA Chapter 1451, the 4-Corners Flyers, will be give your child a plane ride – no strings attached. You can offer your child the experience of a lifetime.

Just contact us to arrange a flight for your child:

Here is what your child will experience:

The engine roars to life,
pushing you back into your seat as you cruise down the runway at full throttle. Then with a gentle tug of the controls, the wings bite into the wind and the ground drops away as your airplane climbs into the bright blue sky. You may soar over the towns of Cortez, Mancos, Dolores or Pleasant View depending on where you live. The pilot will fly you over your home and school, so bring a camera. If you have never flow before, you will see the Sleeping Ute and Mesa Verde, Lone Cone, the La Platas and the San Juans from 9000 feet above sea level.

Sound exciting? More than 1.4 million young people just like you thought so and have already taken a free flight through the EAA’s Young Eagles program. Experience the thrill of flight up close in a airplane flown by a pilot who lives in the 4 Corners area. Get an official certificate to show off to your friends and family. But they don’t have to be jealous for long. Have their parents call the contacts above, for a free Young Eagles ride.

Have your name entered into the World’s Largest Logbook at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Follow the footsteps of history’s greatest aviators, including the Wright brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart and Neil Armstrong.

So parents, what are you waiting for? Call and soon your child will be rolling down the runway and up into the bright blue sky!

As of August 2010, our chapter members has logged a total of 188 rides.  Noel, our chapter President has logged the most of our members with a total of 100 as of November 12, 2008 and is now in the Young Eagles Century Club.

An excerpt from the National EAA website:
The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.

Since 1992, more than 1.3 million Young Eagles have enjoyed a flight through the program. Young Eagles have been registered in more than 90 different countries and have been flown by more than 41,000 volunteer pilots.
